THE NAME “TEALING”

The name Tealing derives from the Gaelic, meaning "country of streams and waters" The exact date that Tealing became the accepted name for the area is unclear because the history books show that several different versions were used through the ages -Felin, Tellein, Thelin, Tellone, Teleth, Telen and Telyn are all mentioned. By the 17th century, the use of "Tealing" was well established.
