Tom Strang

In August 1993 I started at Tealing School and I am now in Primary 7. My teacher from Primaries 1-4 was Mrs Chidley, who is still teaching this stage. Since Primary 5 My main teacher has been Miss Hendry, the headteacher, but we have other teachers too, especially Mrs Wright and Mrs Wilkie. Teachers for P.E., Art and Music also visit the school and the older children get swimming lessons each year. In August last year a morning nursery class taught by Mrs Willison started.

Every year we have special events. In October we have a fancy dress Halloween party and in December we practise carols, readings and a nativity play for the Christmas service. In the Spring term most of the pupils learn a Scottish poem and the Primary 7 pupils can enter the Leng Medal competition. In recent years we have also entered the Soccer Sevens tournament. In the Summer term every year we have a sports afternoon and we also go on a school trip. Some of the places we have been to include the Sea Life Centre, Praytis Farm Park, Camperdown Park and the Scottish Deer Centre.

Last year the older children took part in "Opera for All" and this year it will be the ecological musical "Yanomamo". After the Summer holidays I shall be starting at Forfar Academy and I hope that I'll like it as much as Tealing.
